Our sensei decided to arrange 1 class which each of us bring our local home food and share our preparations all in Japanese. Luckily I still have a ready make sauce pack (Chilli crab sauce) which I brought in Singapore. Since its difficult to find crabs so I added various seafood instead: squid, prawns, clams. The sauce pack had a extra spicy pack but I threw it away since the original sauce pack was really spicy, I had even added tomato sauce lol!
It was a fun class that day, my Malaysian classmate Fikri even wore his traditional Malay clothes! They were exclaiming over his clothing and how beautiful it was and I was busy snapping photos hehe. He prepared curry with coconut and its was more sweet and not at all spicy. Malays typically eat spicy (very spicy) food so I guess he prepared knowing that Japanese can't eat spicy food. True enough, my chilli sauce seafood was too spicy for my sensei to handle, she passed me back her bowl for me to finish lol! We also invited another 2 Japanese office staff to eat with us and one of them was sweating all over after he finished my food ;p Only Fikri can fully appreciate the spiciness hehe!
Rachel, my American classmate prepared chili, it was not at all spicy and super delicious! Its actually a spicy stew containing chili peppers, meat (usually beef), and often tomatoes and beans. The process is super tedious due to tons of ingredients and usually take a day before or 4-5 hours to make it. It should be my first time eating chili and I loved it!
Last but not least, our sensei prepared Japanese organic rice! We should do it again except that I ran out of sauce apart from Laska lol!
