Ever since S made his own version of Singapore chicken rice, he had been obsessed with making the taste as original as the local version. So far we have eaten 4 times in 1 month, not that i mind at all since i love chicken rice! Looking forward to eat again! Went to Nogiku for lunch, it was filled with local customers and we were surprised at the portion we received for just 500 yen. Didn't seem as though they need new customers anyway. Will go try their other food again.

久慈市
Went down to 久慈市 taking 3 hours drive (Kuji, Iwate prefecture) which was partly devastated by tsunami. I had never been to the area before and had S not told me, i would not have notice which area had been devastated before. Simply because those area became flat land, all the ruins had been cleared. As we drove further down, all the empty lands which used to have houses, street names were just categorized as district 1, 2 ,3 and was left untouched since surviving ones had moved to stay somewhere else. Seeing in person left such an impact for me, it takes at least 30-40 mins to drive to coast area yet the tsunami was able to destroy most within this huge vicinity. I once again learnt to appreciate how Singapore is surrounded by other islands and therefore protected by natural disasters.

Singapore Chicken Rice Day
Initially we went to another restaurant since i was chanting away about eating tacos rice i saw in our book. Unfortunately i had failed to see the offer was not available on friday =p and the staff told us when we requested the offer. Therefore we went to nearby cafe since we were too hungry to drive to another shop. S decided to cook chicken rice for dinner and we brought jasmine rice (expensive, small packet (meant for 3 meals for 2 for $6). The result turned out to be success! We also discovered the shopping mall also sold the chicken rice sauce mix so we can buy it whenever we have craving!

Hashikami Roadstation
Drove towards end of Hachinohe and stepped into Iwate zone. He wanted to try the sea urchin don and checkout Hashikami roadstation. This is our first time driving to this area and it pretty easier to drive since just drive straight all the way! The one coin lunch book has many stores available along this stretch of road just that its a hassle to drive 1 hour to eat something. Surprisingly, the Hashikamai road station is spacious with several small stores selling different food. There's even a Thai food store! We brought many vegetables, seaweed, crabs (still alive and inhaling bubbles!), fishcakes and etc. After that, went to ate lunch and urchin don was delicious (small portion for guy)! The urchin and the egg strike a prefect balance and taste of urchin lingered in our mouth for a long while. He rated the best so far among the restaurants we went. Seems like this restaurant catered to locals or those who drove along the highway (this way connect to highway going towards Tokyo). We were the only ones using the book. He enjoyed it so much that he wanted to come again the next rest day.

てんはち @ Hachinohe
Went to tempura don restaurant after his blood donation with our book again. Honestly speaking without the book, we would not have notice this place and from the appearance of it, it did not seem that the place was opened. As we sat, we realised all the customers came with the book and all were ladies apart from S, no one was normal customer. I am guessing either this is new shop, maybe its majority business is cater at night. Typically certain Japanese food, like ramen is too salty for my liking and same goes to this tempura don. However, the side dish (preserved radish and pickles) provided strike a right balance with the main dish. We would come again!

Yokohama Dim Sum
Received a package full of dim sum, i was overjoyed but turned to S and said how much it is? Is that expensive? I should have said thank you the first moment instead of being so realistic. No wonder majority said once married, all you care is basic necessities not and romantic notions. I didn't realise that i miss dim sum so much until i saw them (probably because i ate many times when i was back in singapore last year lol). We had a great dinner finishing up all these along with my chilli!

Air purifier
Recently as S is plagued with pollen allergy and i all along have nose allergy (so serious that i have to use nose spray and medicine twice a day to stop majority of my sneezing). In Singapore, did not ever think of visiting a doctor since i thought its normal and do not have any problem with it. Once i stayed with him, he could not stand my endless sneezing especially when we are sleeping. He said did we have earthquake grrrr..... Okaasan brought us air purifier and we had used it continuously for 2 weeks. When i do not take the nose allergy medicine, i will be rubbing my nose
consistently (to the extent the rubbing will lead to blood) and wake up few
times due to dry nose or lack of air since my nose is stuck. With the air
purifier, only need to wake up 1 time to blow my nose and its near morning
(time to wake up anyway) Yay! Thank you okaasan!
