Shichinohe & Mutsu Flower Festival 2016

This year is our first year of visiting red flowers (forgot the name) in Shichinohe. The flowers surrounded the hill which has a shrine situated on the top. It was breathtaking beautiful! Slight drawback was that was basically it! After you climbed up and admired and headed down, it was less than 20 mins. No festival for you to look at just brunch of local ice cream sellers. Its akita, tohoko speciality that old folks (usually the ladies) selling colorful or flower like ice cream. You won't see it elsewhere in other parts of Japan.

Next we went to mutsu to see the hano flowers and ate my favourite scallops don. We went during weekday since we won't be free to go during the carnival. Learnt something new about the nano flowers, every year the organizers have to switch the areas to plant the hano flowers as it will not survive if it is planted in the same area. Interesting isn't it? Same goes for other plants like tomato
