Kanazawa Day 1 Part 2

Continued S's search of shrines and we were looking for Lawsons since they would have toilets. Could not find any and we found a open entrance with poster saying you are free to rest inside and use the toilet. There were nobody inside and we went in since we won't know if we can find any toilet later. When we came out, there was an elderly in charge of the place and explaining the history of Kanazawa. S chatted with him for a while before we left.

Higashi Chaya street was a designated enterianment district back in Edo era and very interesting place to stroll and shop around. There have tons of gold products which is a speciality of Kanazawa, be it gold flakes in makeup, skincare products, food and many more. Very interesting to see. One of the shops even displays wall which is completely covered in gold, many were queuing to take picture of it. But I ended up buying some of gold products since it looked so pretty!

Dinner at Kanazawa near our hotel turned out to be a headache, many restaurants were fully booked and those that was not was super costly. We ended up in a cozy looking Niku Baru Kitchen that served all sorts of meat dishes. Its was very tasty but it came in small portions. With a couple of beers and side dishes and 2 dons, we already paid  6000 yen for it. If we had went to others, we might even need to pay even more. We walked to the Kanawaza station and the shopping mall beside it and there were plenty of affordable food choices around there. Decided to come back tomorrow for dinner instead of eating at those expensive restaurants.
