Harvest month!

If you have been reading my blog constantly, you would have recall i mentioned the "devil pumpkin" my father in law planted in our garden. While we are gone for a month, the devil pumpkins spread and conquest 1/4 of garden bed! It block our entry to other plants.... Indeed it has live up to its nickname!
We had several plants all ready for harvest but surprisingly.... didn't know the broccoli was a safe haven for green worms. We soak the broccoli for 2 hours, boil it... still the worms didn't appear... Only when we sliced it into smaller pieces and scrutinized it then we managed to locate it, it was still clinging onto the plant. Too much work lol!! Easier to buy from supermarket.

family meetup

Have to thank you everyone for making their time to meet up with me, its hard to gather everyone since everyone is so busy with their life with work and children. But when i told them im coming back to Spore, they made an effort to meet up with me. Especially my 2 male cousins lol! I was joking with them that if i didn't move to Japan, i doubt they would spare time to meet us!  I have alot of cousins... (think i need to borrow S hands and feets to count them all) but there are a group of us that are around the same age and i am the closest to them. For my dad side, i am the oldest grandchild and most of the rest are born at least 23 years later lol!! I treat them more like my nephew and nieces than my cousins!
Thank you for making time for me and all of you are so concerned about my life in Japan and whether i have been doing well.  Miss uguys!!!

very difficult to take a decent photo with these rascals

the lousy 2 male cousins r inside.... won't mention who lol.... hint" those at the back..

Meetup and yummy crabs!

Soon, we be approaching in our 30s. By now, half of my friends are married, half are not.. Single life certainty have its advantages; more carefree, less budget conscious and live the way you want to be. Whereas marriage and kids; the priority become kids then husband then lastly you (;p), sometimes i will envy my single friends going for vacation but it only lasted a while. Marriage is a responsibility and children are precious yet bitter-sweet burden at times (i can foresee myself being a mother whom constantly nag and scold (sounds familiar right?)) Think S adjusted to the new role very well while i am still coping to the role as a housewife along til now.

Seeing my friends with their children makes me wonder if i can take on motherhood as well. Half anticipation half worry.

so cute!

one more is coming!

thanks for ur wonderful meal!

yum yum!!

ふなっしー

Since i was a child, i was crazy (really crazy) about sailor moon and i would secretly buy all the stickers, cards available from the slot machines. Till now i still kept them in my home and whenever i see it now, i would feel guilty how much i spent on it. From then on, i become more practical and realistic in buying this type of stuff, i began to question myself when i am struggling to make a decision to buy or not to buy. "Do i need or want this? What purpose does it serve? Do i have space to keep it? Is it worth the money?..." By the time i finished answering all this questions in my head, 90% of the time i would have put the item back on the shelf.

Last year, i began to notice a cute but Super noisy mascot (pear) character called Funassyi (ふなっしー) appearing on many Japanese variety shows. It was an unofficial character that represented its city of Funabashi city, Chiba, it was started by an individual citizen but was rejected by the official  local authority when it wanted to be approved as the official character. The local government must have been kicking themselves for rejecting it since it had become No.1 in popularity ranking and had earned so much revenue. Its was so hyper, happy and will do crazy stuff (like doing bungee jump and swimming on variety show, the way it speaks its super cute as well, it always end with nashii (なっしー!).
i cannot resist buying its related goods and my eyes will start shining when i see its product and start scanning around for more. I am still cautious buyer (don't worry, mum +p).

Here's the 2 videos, if you wish to understand it in english subs, please enlarge the video and click on the cc icon on bottom right hand corner.

Lunch @ Keng Eng Kee & KTV

Ever since i was back in Singapore, i had been trying my best to consume as much local food as possible especially crabs (be it chilli or salted), sting ray (best its bbq), duck or chicken rice. Whenever my friends asked what's my preference i always said as long no Japanese or Korean food lol... Hence they brought me to Keng Eng Kee Seafood resturant located at Bukit Merah. Honestly speaking, had i not stay overseas, i certainly would not have travel all the way to the west for food unless there's car. Its was worth the trip! I think i miss Spore food the most! At least i can skype and message my family and friends but i can't taste the food!! =(

Birthday Treat @ 七戸 NARABI

October is S's birthday month! Went to Shichinohe's farm which was famous for its gelato but since early this year they built a new restaurant that served their farm produce beef as well. Although it was his birthday, he was the one doing all the work e.g like driving 1 hour to the farm and i was the one suggested to go here and he just agreed. Seems like it was my birthday instead =p. Usually i am the picky type with the food and more adventurous with new cafes, he tend to be more of a creature of habits.
Happy Birthday! Hope u enjoyed the small gift i gave u!

sorry no food for u!

River Safari

Went to River Safari with Clara, actually I did not even know this new attraction until she suggested visiting it. The River Safari was pretty small in comparsion to the Zoo, at most take 2 hours to finish the tour, felt its meant more for kids than adults.

Furthermore they are quite sneaky in adding the 2 boat rides which cost $5 each, the Amazon ride would take you to see other animals and if you did not, you would not be able to see it on foot (If you went on a hot afternoon like us, most of them were hiding in shade or sleeping so we did not see some of them). While the River Cruise ride was a snooze, hardly worth the money and ended within 15 minutes with glimpses of elephants and giraffes from the Zoo opposite end (might as well go zoo better).

The main catch is if you wish to visit the pandas is to visit River Safari instead of the Zoo (very smart lol). Still enjoyed it overall since its the company that counts!

thanks for taking leave to hang out w me =)
