Day 10 Yokohama (Sankeien Garden, Chinatown & Red Brick Warehouse)

Wanted to bring them to somewhere different, Shota suggested Yokohama and i went to do some research. I discovered people recommending Sankeien Garden through trip advisor and its near Chinatown which i planned to go so it should be easy to navigate. It took us 1 hour plus to reach the station then after we had to changed to bus and walked 15mins to destination. Very secluded place and as usual i followed the Japanese visitors heading to the same direction after looking at the map. Mainly Japanese tourists and wedding couples that came here for wedding photos. The poor brides had to walk with such burdensome layers of wedding kimono and wooden clogs under such hot weather. I even saw one bride that was sitting in a wheelchair! Now that's a smart move!  The area is pretty big and we took 2 hours to explore the entire area.

Then after, we took cab to Chinatown and had Chinese buffet where i stuffed myself with roasted duck meat. I hardly get to eat duck in Japan and they don't sell duck meat as well. I was beaming with happiness when the roasted duck came! That meal satisfied our craving of wanting to eat Chinese food.

On a sidenote, on the way back to Tokyo, foolish me was tired and did not want to walk and find out where's the nearest station and so we took a cab and i pointed the driver the station i wish to go. It was the 2nd stop that will take me back to tokyo, as i assumed 3 stations away from Minatomirai was not that far away, hence would not cost much. Boy......... I was so wrong!!!  That was my first time that my heartbeat was beating faster as the meter jumped. Turnout that 3 stations distance were more than just 3 stations, since the train i was supposed to take its the faster type: meaning it skip quite a few stations and stop only at the busier stations. Thank god, i noticed the gps on the cab and realised that it was at least 40 mins more before we reached the destination and the meter was jumping to 3000yen ($38 sin) soon.... At this rate, the cab fare should be around 15000 yen ($200plus sin) or more if we stuck in a jam! I asked the cab where is the nearest station now and asked him to alight us there. Luckily, we alighted and paid around 4000yen and he kind of knew the reason why i told him to alight us to the closest station because he told me i only have to take 3 more stops to reach the initial station i wanted. Phew!!! All of us were in cold sweat and my mum said that she only kept staring at the meter and was too afraid to even look at the scenery. 1 lesson learnt!
