Hideji Reaction

When I was in labour, heard that my dog was constantly waiting for me. His usual routine would be just lazing in a corner and ignoring our daily activities. Yet with me gone (I heard), he was waiting for me at our entrance, no appetite and checking out if I was came when S came back home.
Missed him so badly during my hospitalisation, we were never apart and he was used to me being home everyday.

The first day when I came back home with new addition to the family, he was uncertain what to make of the newcomer. Especially when A started crying, he tried to bite A's clothes (maybe he thought A was attacking us).Took him few weeks to adjust to the baby.... Now he just ignored A's cries, did not even bother to lift up his head! (sometimes when A cried too long or too many times, he would look up and gave a resigned look that seemed to saying.... "not again... do not disturb me lol!"

My friend has some kind of fanasty about pet dog being best friends or protective with the child. To the extent, she would tag me to all sorts of video showcasing dogs playing or protecting the kid. I really don't see it happening with my dog haha! There are high possibility that he will even escape from A!

Due for Labour (part 3)

Day 4
Started another course of inducing and the pain was beyond my limits. Every hour the pain intensified and i wanted to smash the needle away and tell them just kill me or the baby instead. Shall spare you the gruesome details of delivery process. To be frank, the induction pain was the worst compared to my delivery. Still shudder at thought of it.

Later on i found out they prepared operating table for c-section in case i could not deliver naturally. If that happened, the thought of strangling my gyane did cross my mind. Looking back I understood why the doc made the decision, natural birth does have its benefits.

I was able to walk around after birth. In fact, i went to chat with my new found friend until we were advised by the nurse to rest. The weariness only kick in the next day. Going to toilet was not an issue even after the anesthesia wore off (of course i was taking pain killers). In comparison, my friend (natural birth w epidural, not sure if she was induced) commented she could feel the burning pain on her thighs even when she took painkillers. Or was it because the extreme pain i suffered during labour that other pain became insignificant lol!

P.S usually newly mothers will post and upload pictures with captions how joyful and appreciative they are with their baby. My first words to my baby was "怖い". Really looked like alien :p

Due for Labour (Part 2)

I asked my gyane to do c-section instead and he told me to give up. He said he is not certain why but only singapore and south korea do highest rate of c-section. Then epidural etc ...basically any method to ease the pain i heard from my friends (that gave birth in spore) are
all not available. Beside the reason that gyane get sue easily  and they have to close their business when complication occurs during the injection, although all these method are not harmful to the baby, they are harmful or have negative effect to the mother in long term wise.

Day 2 evening
my gyane warned me to take note as my waterbag might break in wee morning. True enough, it broke around 3-4am. I thought i had peed in my pants but it had no odour and in high frequency and so i informed the nurse. She confirmed indeed its my waterbag that burst and i should get ready to give birth anytime. For some reason, i became really scared and started trembling (guess i felt i was alone in foreign country and hospital  and was clueless what would happened during the birth). From then on, my contraction pain intervals become shorter and stronger but still not enough (!!!!)

Day 3 night

Baby position not right and dilation 7cm? Was in such a pain that i couldn't walk. Pinkish water kept gushing out. By that time mentally and physically i was breaking down, an angel (very experienced obstetric nurse also a lecturer ) came for her night shift and eased my worries and pain. So so grateful to her, she was constantly checking on me, soothing and massaging me and taught me the breathing technique when contraction came.

Due for Labour (Part 1)

Long overdue from blogging as it took me over a month to recover and to adjust to this new lifestyle (actually I have yet to adjust fully but S is nagging me to write my blog).

Previously I was saying that im hoping to give birth soon as I had past my due date and needed to pay from the next check up. Well.... my prayers had been heard and I had contraction pain (every 10 minutes interval) the very next day early morning! We got all my stuff and I was admitted around 9am. I wanted individual ward but it was fully taken up so I ended up staying in 4 person ward for 2 days. The first day I was able to finish my food, loiter around and read manga. The nurse checked me out and said I had only diluted 2cm and in order to give birth it has to be diluted to 10cm.

Day 2 morning, I only diluted 4 cm (or maybe still 2cm don't remember).
Gyane gave me 2 choices: Either to go back home and continue exercising to accelerate the birth or to take oral medication (1 dosage every hour for max 6 hours) to induce the birth. I chose the latter option as I did not want to go back home and who knows how long I have to drag on.. I already in my 40 weeks, just want to her out. (my body could not cope with the weight as well). Boy.... the meds made my contractions painful....In the meantime I still have to walk up down the stairs, bending motion, walk around so I could dilute further.

I was losing my appetite and sleep (who could sleep anyway lol... in such frequent interval of pain and intensity). At later point when my contraction came, it was till at point that if I sit, I would collapse to the floor, if I stand I would also collapse but it felt like the contraction went away faster and I coped with it better than in sitting position. My hip and legs could not support my weight and the pain anymore. I was writhing and screaming in pain (felt sorry to my surrounding neigbours)...

* Since it was a month plus ago and my memory has been deteriorating so this is roughly what I remembered

Past my Due Date

EDD (Expected Due Date) supposed to be on 24 Feb 2018 but baby is taking her own sweet time and yet to decide to greet us. Super active in my tummy though... Went for check up and I spent over a hour to get the graph of baby heart beat (usually only need 20-30 minutes required). The gyane wanted to see baby normal heart beat but because she was so active, the chart was constantly over high side. I was quite concerned and asked the gyane if she was ok and he replied its better to be active and it was fine. He did not go in depth explaining the reason why he wanted to see the normal heart beat.

Also found out that my free check up coupons had been fully utilised.... From the next check up I would have to pay 5000 yen ($65 sgd) and that's not inclusive of blood test (another 2000 yen $26 sgd)... sob sob.. Hopefully we can see her soon before my next check up!
