Tokyo 2015 Day 1 Part 2

After leaving our bags at the hotel, we went on to our separate ways from my in laws. Went to the youth and shopping heaven in Harajuku. There was a newly opened Line Store that we wish to go since we love Line apps especially him! This is the first and only Line shop they have in Japan. It was pretty easy to find since the characters were so obvious. For dinner, we moved to Kanda as i had my favourite ramen craving. Always eat here without fail when i am at Tokyo. S wanted to go to bookstore and we followed the google map on the nearest location, it turned out to be a store selling AV and porn books and DVD lol!

Tokyo 2015 Day 1 Part 1

Headed to Tokyo for a short trip with my in laws family. My obaachan wanted to watch sumo live, none of us had watch a real sumo match apart from watching it on TV. Of course we grabbed the chance to come along. My in laws always have good taste in hotels! If its only S and me, we will get the cheapest hotel near red-light district and the room would be so cramp. Since they are older, they will choose over comfort and location vs price. Indeed the hotel room and bathroom was spacious! S was already in holiday mood when we were waiting for local train and was drinking beer since 10.30am lol! We met up my family in laws in Shinkansen since they boarded earlier than us.

Slow Cafe #01

My favourite friend in Misawa is back, haven't seen her since after our trip to Singapore! She said she gained pounds but as usual i see no signs lol! Went to a cafe along the way to Hachinohe called Slow Cafe. Very wooden, cosy feel to it, we sat near the door so it was pretty cold as the heater was in the other area. Our orders were delicious although portion were considered small for Americans. For Japanese ladies, the amount was just right.

2014 Annual Award

Attended with S on his nomination in the Civilian Award in his category for 2014. He was not expecting to win so didn't have high expectation in the first place since the odds are 1 vs 1400 nominations on the base. He was stunned when his name was called. So proud and happy for him! He was grinning all the way when we drove back home. That award qualifies him for the next level of nomination which i have to represent him (he be away)2 weeks later. He is so disappointed that he could not attend.

1st day of 2015~

Went to the shrine and we brought omikuji. I got best fortune for the rest of the year YEA! My parents in law and grandmother in law gave us otoshidama (small packet with $$). My mother in law said actually once kids turn 20 not suppose to give any more but they still give anyway +P. My father in law gave me another one secretly but was caught in the act under S's sharp eyes lol! That day, i guessed my father in law was kinda of drunk so when i hugged him to say good bye, he puckered his lips up. I had a shock i must say cos he is my in law afterall! In the end i gave him good bye kiss on his cheek lol!! I don't even do that to my dad!  Lol!!

Day before 2015~

Went back to Aomori to welcome 2015 with my in laws. This year my father in law had to work on last day of 2014 hence its just the 4 of us including my grandmother in law. Knowing my favourite, they brought crabs for me! This time eating it alone wasn't that fun (last year my father in law was eating with me), by the time i finished 1 crab i was too exhausted to continue eating sukiyaki. Obaachan was laughing at me when i said 疲れた when i refused to continue eating the crabs. The snow was so impressive in Aomori, close to 100cm i think. So glad i am staying in Misawa not Aomori. After the meal, we watched the NHK Red & White Song Festival and the White (guys side) won yet again, When will it be the girls turn?!

銀山温泉 Ginzan Onsen Road trip Day 3 part 2

On our way back, we got stuck in Yamagata and along the highway, one of highway section was closed at one time. Too many accidents happened on that day so you can tell how bad the road condition and the weather. I was knocked out most of the time and was only awake for lunch and when we had to take another road due to highway was closed. Was really afraid we be stuck somewhere since the snow was never ending and we were low on petrol. Thanks to S's excellent driving skills, we managed to make it back and prepared for next day meals!
