Day 3 @ Aomori

On Day 3, we drove from Misawa to Aomori and stayed 1 day. I brought them to visit my obaachan's house and okaasan and shota drove them around to tour Aomori city. My parents cannot stop marvelling how delicious the food was and even my mum with her small appetite, could finish the whole set herself. She whom could not have survive without chilli, did not ask for chilli at all and kept saying how delicious the Japanese rice was.
During dinner, Shota ordered fresh prawn sashimi and i was completey freaked out by live prawns. I thought it was freshly killed but the prawns were bouncing around. I nearly cried when Shota forced me to take it, peel off its skin and bite its head off! It was very expensive and it costed 300yen ($4) each. I felt bad because okaasan had paid for the dinner while me after ordering it refused to eat it. Mean Shota kept playing and scaring me with the prawns and the prawn brain's BLUE juice oozed out.... I will never eat anything while its still alive.

Day 2 with my parents @ Towada

Early in the morning, we brought them to Towada Lake. On the way, we pulled over at stop station where they sold local products and there were 2 stalls selling dried products and apple juice. The stall owners selling dried squid were so friendly and let us tried various samples. When i pointed and said (hodate) scallops! They thought i am local as i spoke in 津軽弁, Tsugaru-ben. (The Tsugaru dialect (津軽弁 Tsugaru-ben?) is a Japanese dialect spoken in western Aomori Prefecture). Then i said no, i am singaporean lol! They were so shocked. Shota pulled me one side and sadly said sorry, i think we (meaning my father in law and him) had made your accent into Aomori dialect instead. We continued our way to Towada Lake and took a cruise around. However it rained halfway through and make the scenery foggy but my parents did get a chance to see sakura! All the hours of driving make them tired easily and most of the time they were sleeping in the car lol! Now u know, im not the only one that get knock out easily, all of us are the same!

My parents are here!! Day 1

Hi everyone, i am back home after bringing my parents and uncle to tour around my place and we went to Hakodate in Hokkaido, Tokyo and Yokohama. They had some trouble at the customs as they didn't have the hotel address since i booked all the hotels and overlooked the fact they would need the information at the customs. Luckily they were released after giving my hp. My dad caught a cold during the flight and was sneezing throughout the journey and poor him also developed cough. I was so happy to see them!!! For dinner we brought them to North 40-40 for dinner and let them had an early rest to recover from the flight.

Nanohana Festival 2014 @ Yokohama-machi, Aomori Prefecture

Hi guys, i am finally back home after bringing my parents and uncle around Aomori, Hakodate and Tokyo! Shall post all that really soon! For now, here is another festival that i went right after the pizza festival in my previous post which we drove 1 hour plus to go there. Everyone was heading to the same direction since it was the last day and usually empty town suddenly came into a crawl, all cars were queuing to go inside the venue and since there were only 1 direction in, we were really worried that how long do we have to wait for parking and etc. It was definitely worth the effort! The scenery was breathtaking! Yokohama machi was also the town famous for their scallops beside this nanohana. Their scallop-egg rice set is the best!
