Last 2 days in Spore

Initially S wanted to go Jurong Bird Park but I was too sick to go anywhere. We ended up with me visiting the doctor in Punggol (I was hoping to see the doc that consulted me for my eye infection, he was very nice) but it was lady doctor this time (also very nice). He was quite disappointed not being able to go to bird park (I could tell) but my persistent fever refused to back down. The doctor said it was a case of nose allergy and the yellow mucus and fever were all part of allergy reaction. She had warned that it will not be cure so fast..... (So true...... I still have slight cough and mucus up to today and its been 1 month since I got back from Singapore, Spore doctor visited once and Japanese Doctor visited 3 times!).

On the last day, S wanted to go army market at golden mile market and we came back home with loads of his goods. He must be feeling very satisfied lol, loads of badges, with army raincoat and even name tags. He spent over hundred getting his items. We went super early (around 10am) but half of store were closed. I hope they will continue to carry on their business as it was the only place we can get many local military goods that not on sale elsewhere.

My dad and brother sent us off at the airport and we went in after my brother reached (He ended work late and we had taken dinner with dad). My mum said I was mean for not eating with my brother and parted! I wanted to look around inside the duty free actually hehe. Intended to sleep on the flight but I ended up watching movies again! The final movie Hunger Games was available and how could I not watch it and I was kinda of scared out of my wits (certain scenes quite scary and S recorded it down with my face frowning and jerking out of my seat) that I could not sleep after that.

It was a great trip, will be even better if I did not fell sick but I was glad to back home in Japan.
I would not even go near my mum without her crying

S looked so old!

my mother could not make it in time and she would be crying anyway

did not expect they would be serving dinner so late. Last pieces of spore style chicken!

Meeting S's ex house mates!

S had stayed in Spore for close to a year, he shifted a few times ( very long story) before he finally settled into a condo in Northeast line. In that condo, there were 2 other being rented out and both couple were Japanese lady with their Singaporean husband/ boyfriend. He got along well with them and even I joined in their trip, and dinner gatherings. Both the couples still stay in Singapore and now both had kids! We really appreciated during our ROM and S had none of his family with him and they came (1 of the couple) to show him support.

I so envy that they did not seem to gain weight after having kids! Seem like most Japanese ladies have such good genres that they remained just as skinny. I do not have any kid but yet I am ballooning as I continue to stay in Japan! Arghhh!! Hope to visit them when they are back in Japan or they come visit us!

Visit to Seng Kang Fire Station

Made arrangement to visit Fire station ever since S saw my friend visit, he was looking forward to it. If anyone is interested, most fire stations have open house on every saturday until 11 am. Grace gave me brunch of pre-mixed herbal soups and local sauce packs, thanks!

Unfortunately after the morning visit, I was feeling under the weather and kept questioning S if we really have to head out again in afternoon when our next appointment was at 7pm. S remarked that he did not fly to Singapore to stay at home and we went out to walk/shop around. In the end, I was so exhausted that we ended up in Chinatown point library with me sleeping while he read. At the time I did not realised I was sick.... very sick.... S wanted to cancel the dinner appointment as he said I looked bad but I refused since we were already near our meeting area and 1 hour from the schedule time. S wanted to eat dim sum and we found out that the restaurant did not serve dim sum at all. He was pretty disappointed. My cousins wanted to go for drinking session and we said no as I was feverish, eyes were red and voice was hoarse, I actually wanted to go haha... Luckily I did not, because on the way home, I was on the verge of fainting.

that's for kids to try not you!

only picture we had before they went off to feed the hungry kids

yummy prawns! too bad I was feeling too ill to eat more

beijing duck, also very good

pity that we could not go for a drink after that. I was on verge of collapsing. Thanks for the treat!

Khat's Solemnisation

29 Feb was a special day, not because it only occur every 4 years but it was the date my best friend got married! I had never been to a Malay wedding or solemnisation so I was really excited to witness it. Reached my bf house and surprised to know that I was the first friend to arrive. There were 2 that were to arrive even earlier than me but in the end they only arrived 10-20 minutes before the groom arrived. I ended up being the only one to help her, not that I minded but I had no experience in Malay customs and what to do. Especially since my friend is very religious so no man can step into her room before she dressed and her hair was hidden in other words only females allow.

Tasks that I tried to help:

1. To decorate one of tray with boxes of chocolates which was supposed to be done by her malay friend that "suppose" to come early. I assumed by the word decorating that I should tear up the boxes and take out the chocolates lol! Wrong! I already tore the first box when Khat said Nooooooo! Oppps....... I ended up sticking the box back :p

2. Pass the money to the photographer "discreetly", I was looking my bf in a blank face saying how am i suppose to do that? In the end, I talked to the photographer and gestured him to one side and informing him that I was to pass him the money discreetly lol! Khat even asked me to bring the dress out "discreetly", I was thinking no way I can accomplish the task, the dress is so bright and freaking long! Luckily her makeup artist talked her out of it.

3. Convey messages between the photographer and Khat since he could not enter until she was done. That was easy until the photographer wanted to take pictures of the dress and asked me to find "S"- shaped hook. I was thinking oh no.... not my house...... no idea....... Tried asking her brother but he did not know, ended up I spotted it in the kitchen lol!

4. Entertain her another best friend, Ray. As he was not allowed into the room as well and by the time she was ready, everybody was swarming around her and he knew no one like me. We were also sticking out like a sore thumb since both of us were the only Chinese around. I was like the animal in the zoo when I left her room to help out lol. So we ended chatting merrily

Congratulations my bestie!

Blur me!

Craving for salted egg crabs and went to crab buffet at Conrad Hotel, the menu was even better than before! Crab bee hoon soup (thumb up!), 4 types of flavour of crabs, clams, drunken prawn..... We still had my brother's remaining money given by the boss and so we spent it on the buffet and another Japanese meal with my aunt.

Met my poly friends and its was years since I met them other than Grace! Grace seemed like the foreigner than me as I had to show her which tunnel to exit and which shopping centre we were supposed to go. Xinci gave us a box of Killney white coffee to try and I just passed some to buy mother in law, it was her company new product. Joanna also gave us the cute stick sticker that allow hp to stand itself, she even had the gift to S (even though he had not arrived in Singapore). S was not keen at all, but when i took it out and start sticking behind the hp, he saw it and said he wanted it lol!

There was a KTV session with my friends which I thought was the next day. I went down earlier to have my lunch and waited 20 minutes and was getting more and more anxious. Had no wifi and local handphone, I went to borrow phone from the KTV staff to buy them. The staff were very nice and encouraged me to call again when my friends did not pick up. ...... It turned out that the meeting was next week not next day lol........ My family were laughing away when I got back home and told them about it.

Coffee Hunt!

My mother in law had tasked me to buy G7 Vietnamese coffee. It is a very popular coffee among her relatives and friends. Whenever I am back to Singapore, I need to buy many of it. This time, it was exceptionally difficult to find the brand with the flavour and size. My parents found it at the Stadium new NTUC (supermarket) and its was on offer! We could only carry 9 bags of it since we brought other groceries. Went to many of nearby supermarket, big and small all did not have the brand! I went back with S to the Stadium and all was gone! Jaw dropping! Why so difficult to get it!

Last few days before we were to fly back, my brother came to our rescue and found it online NTUC and brought it! It was lot expensive and need to pay shipping fee but at least it saved us the headache of searching all over!

spotted this at sim lim square food court, abalone minced meat noodle.

went to find G7 vietnamese coffee at Stadium.

Found Aomori apple drinks!

Gathering & Eye infection

More gatherings with my friends.... As I had difficulty sleeping at night (kept sneezing in the air condition room since my brother needed it), been sleeping really late, been eating alot unhealthy food. Just right before Chinese New Year, my eye was infected and swollen, so its was horrible. Imagine going around for visiting with swollen eye and its was quite painful, but since it was during the weekend and all clinics would have been closed or charged with extra cny charges, I figured that I should just wait and let it recover. Unfortunately the recovery process was not as fast as I expected and the clinic at Waterway point was empty and I went to have a check. The doctor was really friendly and chatty, and consultation charges was reasonable at $16. Unfortuntley he told me that there was nothing he could do since the best time to cure was the beginning stage when it was swollen and inflame, then he would given me antibiotic to eat. Now I just to wait it out and 80% of the time it will auto recover. Was kinda of afraid, as the doctor was telling me about seeing eye specialist and perform a surgery if it did not recover and having a tiny scar... blah blah...

Now til date, its hardly visable unless I close my eyes.. phew!
