Lunch @ Acciuga Misawa

Went for lunch at Acciuga which is a Italian restaurant near the main gate of Misawa base. Went to try the 1000 yen ($13) offer stated in One Coin Lunch book. S loved this place, although we rarely come. I love the pizza here, the spaghetti portion is too little for me hence I usually order pizza.

Our favourite pizza! Cheese with honey so good!

One coin lunch offer: Beef pasta with soup and coffee

Extra order: Tiramisu

Sashimi Don @ Rokunohe (六戸町)

Experienced a sad news the day before (did not want to share on the blog yet...), S brought me to Rokunohe for lunch (new addition in One coin lunch book) thereafter we drove to Shichinohe for gelato ice-cream! Their ice cream (Namiki Farm) never fail to cheer me up...

Felt better, satisfied and chose not to dread over the issue anymore.

Will update the name again

Only 500 yen! ($7)

Milk and rasp-berry ice cream..

東北六魂祭 @ Aomori (Tohoku Rokkonsai)

Headed down to Aomori as there was a special festival called Tohoku Rokkonsai held on that day. This festival is held to unite the Tohoku people after the devastating Tsunami in 2011 which combined 6 major festivals in the 6 cities in Tokoku region. The festival will travel around different cities in Tokoku and this year was the final year ending in Aomori City.

Did not take any pictures during the parade as we were standing behind the crowd and did not managed to take any good pictures. We went down with Kristi and Bao and by Coincidence met the rest of american firefighters that came in the group. The festival area was huge! We walked a long way to reach the parade area after eating at the stalls and its was really sheer luck to find them.

Had dinner at my mother in law's house which she prepared all the delicious food and met Reagan for the first time!

Farewell @ Oirase Brewery 奥入瀬麦酒館

Joined in with fire's department farewell dinner this time, so far I had only went once. It was Bao's farewell dinner so of course I would not have missed it. It was my first time going to the Oirase Brewery and the location was quite far and remote. The restaurant offered bus service to bring us back and fro, the trip was far..... Took much longer than I expected, around a hour or more. It was like taking on a school trip by bus, everyone was chatting and joking merrily.

On the way back it got worse, it became like a zoo lol! Drunk talking and old school singing like Backstreets Boy Song etc... The bus had to stop twice for pee break and the bus driver was very uneasy and reluctant to stop over at the convenience store. They received complaint before that their customers used the toilets without purchasing any items.   Since S is experience in organising such dinner outings, he informed everyone to buy an item if you are using the toilet. Thankfully for the bus driver, he looked more at ease when everyone came back with items in their hand.

The meal was very affordable around 4000 yen with free flow of beers (brewed by restaurant) and 3 types of meat (pork, chicken and lamb) with the vegetables for 2 hours. The food was delicious and the beers tasted great!

With the bus to take us to the brewery

Sweetpie!

Free flow of drinks including beer and food for 2 hours!

Ramen Genraku @ Hachinohe らーめん元楽 八戸

Went for our one coin lunch after our blood donation, as it was on a Wednesday (many restaurants were closed on Wednesday). Settled on the ramen shop that we never been before. I ordered the book choice (Wantan noodle) and the wantan was pathetic. Should be my first and last time here again. Nothing to rave about.

said to be wantan ramen but the wantans only 2 pieces and so small! Boo!

S ordered straight from the menu

Girls Outing @ Yoshinos

It was a girls night out with Kristi and other friends as she was soon leaving. Too bad I forgot to take group photo as we were busy savouring our food and chatting away..... I made an embarrassing mistake when I asked for water in Japanese, normally I would said "mizu o kudasai" but S need correcting me saying that typical Japanese would said "ohiya o kudasai". Hence I wanted to try it but I said it wrongly to "ohea". The always serious, tall and bulky chef all sudden seemed stunned and started smiling (I never seen him smiled before that) and I corrected myself.

When I told S about the episode later, he burst out laughing and said ohea had another meaning which was bald hair and the chef was exactly a skinhead. Opps!

Deli Cafe Perch @ Hachinohe

S dropped his iphone in a flood accident happened in his workplace, as a result the phone stopped working. His face was so depressed and he only got the phone a month ago! Poor him! We drove to Hachinohe to see if we could get it fix and the personal told us to come back in a hour to check on it. Originally wanted to use the one coin book to eat at the tempura don but it was closed then we walked to a new restaurant called Deli Cafe Perch.

Very stylish cafe and seemed to be popular with the ladies. With the book promotion the cafe only offered premium set lunch (roast beef don @ 1000yen). The don was delicious especially when its eaten with runny egg yolk but the portion was smaller than I had expected. Did not think the guys will be full after eating that.

Went back to the repair store and sadly the personal could not get the phone to work after drying the internal and she recommended us to contact directly with apple store. Well had she be able to repair, it would only cost us 3000 yen (sin $40) but if its the apple store they would have to replace almost everything @ 30,000 yen ($400). Touch!!! There goes our $$$$.....

Roast Beef don set @ 1000 yen (sin $13) with the book.

S' lunch set @ 800 yen

Dinner @ Kadoya with friends

Met up with our friends before they are leaving and its been a while since we last visited Kadoya. Thereafter we popped by to visit the guy's colleagues and trainers who were having a dinner gathering near us. I thought we were supposed to just "pop" by but instead we were one of the earliest to arrive and last batch to leave..... The restaurant was ok (forgot its name)... some hits and misses, won't be the ones that will appear in my mind if I am heading out for dinner anytime soon.

Must order, raw egg with chicken (super delicious! have to mix both together before eating) and kimchi!

the usual order

Beautiful family!
