Outing with the Hoang's

Met up for dinner with our friends as its been a while since we had a nice dinner together. Intended to have hot pot (nabe) at the restaurant we ate before but unfortunately nabe was out of season (meant for winter due to cold weather). We ordered a few fried dishes and left for next restaurant. At the second place, we ordered edamame and was given 2 dishes (one with edamame and another for the eaten edamame). At that point both the guys (S and Bao) were kinda of drunk i guess, since they kept drinking mug after mug. Bao and i were about to take from the plate of edamame when my hand stopped in mid-air and i saw Bao taking from eaten and empty edamame. Thereafter he looked at me with his red eyes (like nothing's wrong) and chewing the eaten edamame lol! I burst into laughter when i saw him chew not once but twice! Too funny! I was about to have muscle ache from all the laughter.

went for lunch with them the other day when S was at work. This fried oyster set

Yokahama machi rape blossoms flowers festival

After the pizza festival, we drove up to Yokohama machi to attend another festival that celebrate the Nanohana flowers. Since i went to visit the same place 2 weeks before (just no festival), felt that it was much lesser flowers than before (still stunning though). It appeared that the farmers had harvested some of them, we brought the cream puff (shu-cream) and cider made from the flowers. It was pretty good. There were plenty of food stalls at the festival but we underestimated the weather (some of our friends were in short, crop top and skirt). All of us were freezing since the town is facing the sea. I was so exhausted from the long drive that i fall asleep on the way back, even though i did not drive at all. S was driving for around 4 hours to and fro and he became skeleton when we finally reached home lol. He also dislike driving long distance but he had no choice since i suck in driving lol.

Pizza Festival at Shichinohe

Went to pizza festival at Shichinohe, this time round we brought the rest whom were interested. Imagine 4, 5 cars and 1 bike trailing behind us. The weather was unpredictable that day, was sunny and started raining then back to sunny and windy. Our poor biker friend must not had enjoyed that much. Thanks to the big group, S was able to enjoy many different pizzas from different stores. If it was just the 2 of us like last year, we would only manage to queue 3 stores at most (1 would have to wait 30 mins at least) and only slices since i get full easily. This year everyone went to queue different stores and brought a box so we would exchange with others. However i only managed to take 1 pizza picture since i was busy eating (too hungry) and holding pizza box lol!
Maybe next year i will try to take more photos!

During golden week, we went back to aomori and had lunch together

very tasty full seafood!

this was tasty!

queues everywhere

only managed to take 1 pizza photo before it went in our stomachs!

Flowers in Spring!

Visited the sushi counter in Oirase again for the 500 yen set lunch. This time the portion was bigger than before (more rice) and we ordered extra sushi set (10 sushi and 1 seaweed roll for 1000yen). Clearly their customers increased greatly, almost full house when we finished eating. Poor chef was running around since it was Monday and he was only 1 working that day. Looking forward to try their dinner menu during our coming anniversary which their dinner menu offer more choices!

Since our house is rented from S's boss and we took over the house and the garden plants. We hardly know what type of plants, flowers, trees are being planted. Hence every time when Spring comes, we are surprise to see flowers blooming out of nowhere. My next door neighbour is super well organized and their flowers are so pretty!

we have to go again!

cold chawanmushi, just nice for the hot weather that day.

Tofu Day and Ramen @ Ebisu Ken

We have been eating tofu constantly due to his desire to maintain his muscular body (for his job as fire fighter). I have been following his food diet as well but eating it daily is too much for me. So sometimes i would skip it since some of the tofu is pre packaged and ready for consumption. He discovered a hidden tofu manufacturer (its a tiny shop since they mainly sell to merchants). Their tofu ice cream is one of the best i ever tasted in Japan. So fresh, creamy and smooth! He love it so much that he was willing to brave the crowd during golden week and he hates going anywhere during that time.

Soba @ yamakura

Our garden's asparagus finally grown thick enough be eaten! Took us close to 2 years since we planted them in summer 2013. As i was showing off the pictures to some of friends and my parents, they were questioning me if it will take another year to grow again. At that time i honestly had no clue since it was our first time to chop off the asparagus. Few weeks had passed and we managed to eaten our asparagus 3 to 4 times. So they are regrowing at a rapid rate... ya! Don't have to buy anymore at the supermarket!

Recently received several Funassyi goods from okaasan, she told me that S's high school classmate's mom had passed it to her knowing that I love funassyi and she had no use for it (her son's ex gf left it in their house and seemed to have no intention of taking back). Turnout she is an avid reader in S's blog (he started blogging since 10 years ago and he blog daily, more hardworking than me lol!) and she decided to give to me instead. I felt like i had received pre-early Christmas goodies bag for no reason. Thank you very much!

went to the soba resturant (Yamakura) in Misawa

keep growing!

Nanohana flowers @ Yokahama Machi

My friend Kristi is back and she brought her mum along this time. She was asking me for places to go able to see flowers. Unfortunately, usually large area of flowers or least picture worthy are specially planted either at specific venue (long hours of drive and not in our town) or its somebody's house. Since this year the weather is hotter and most flowers blossom earlier than usual. This include the famous Nanohana flowers in Yokahama town. I suggested that to Kristi and off we went with the GPS guiding us. It was during Golden week (Japanese national long holiday) and it was packed with cars and people. Too bad i forgot to take photo of 3 of us together!

always the same choice. never ever want to change

Japanese Cultural Day in Misawa Base

Went to Japanese Day on the base last month. Had missed it last year since he was working (i think). Plenty of fun stuff and activities to try including flower arrangement, painting and many more. The place was packed with people so did not try since have to queue, we were just passing time for our buffet to start. Maybe next year when we had more time and not hungry lol!
